This is a video from our visit to the VISY Recycling Plant. We watched the trucks come in and dump the recycling in a pile. The pile was so big it needed to be pushed around by a front end loader! We also learned what we can recycle and what we shouldn't put in the recycling bin.

Stepping Out

Last term we had a visit from Sergeant Deane. He taught us how to cross the road safely and took us on a walk around the block to practice.
We remembered to stop at the curb, take a step back from the curb, use our eyes and our ears and look both ways to check for cars, then walk safely and briskly across the road.

Developmental Play

Our play sessions are based on the philosophy of child initiated learning, through play. Children have the opportunity to choose developmentally appropriate outdoor and indoor activities, between the four, year two classrooms.  Teachers provide a wide range of activities that include manipulative play, fantasy play, and real world play, as well as play which extends spacial, mathematical and scientific thinking. These sessions also give our teachers a chance to extend children’s emotional and social intelligences, whilst they are interacting and participating with a larger range of children.  (Balmoral School Developmental statement).
