Term Two Photo Collage

In this collage you can see some of the amazing things we experienced at the end of Term 2.

- We celebrated 100 days at school by helping Koru syndicate with their count to 100.

- We watched the Hangi that was made for the Year 7's Rich Task - it made us warm but very hungry.

- Jonty Rutherford came to talk to us about how to keep Kiwi safe in the wild. He showed us a predator trap and then we got to peck "worms" out of
the "foliage" with our "probing beak" - just like a Kiwi!

- When it was Maori Language Week we learnt how to ask a buddy "How many?" of something in Te Reo. Which is, "E Hia?" Then answering in Te Reo! We are pretty good at counting in Maori up to 100 or Kotahi Rau and saying the date.

- We made paper for our Sustainability Rich Task - It was SO messy.

- Some awesome guys from Kiwi Kick and Auckland Football came to teach us ball skills. The most favourite games were Cowboys and Indians in football and Aim for the Teacher in Kiwi Kick.

- In Room 12 one of our favourite things to do for fitness is play Ro Sham Bo. It is like Paper, Scissors, Rock but you use your whole body for the actions.

Bring on Term 3 and the fun we will have with the Rugby World Cup, Dance Rich Task and the Arts Festival just to name a few fun things!

This week is Maori Language Week, which has the theme of manaakitanga - meaning
to care for, entertain, show respect - and is the essence of Maori hospitality. The link above has lots of Te Reo books to entertain you!

To celebrate the week, we have been learning how to say different greetings, colours, numbers, parts of our body and phrases.
